Evidence assembled
The problem
A dispute lands in your Stripe dashboard. The response window is 7–14 days. Stripe requires specific evidence for each dispute reason code: shipping confirmation, customer communication history, billing address records, signed order details. Your order history is in Shopify. Your charge history is in Stripe. They don’t talk to each other.
Most merchants respond late, respond with the wrong evidence, or don’t respond at all. The issuing bank rules for the cardholder. You eat the chargeback, plus a fee. Your dispute rate goes up.
The evidence requirements are documented and the workflow is learnable. But it takes time you’d rather spend running your store.
How it works
A dispute is filed with Stripe.
Do The Proof picks it up immediately. You get an email alert with the dispute details and your response deadline.
Do The Proof assembles the evidence.
It pulls from your Shopify order: customer name, billing and shipping addresses, order timeline, fulfillment records, customer emails, and product information. The evidence is matched against Stripe’s requirements for the specific dispute reason code.
The AI drafts a rebuttal from the evidence.
The draft is in a format Stripe accepts. You see it in the dashboard before it becomes a submission. Edit it, regenerate it, or rewrite it entirely. The submission is always your choice.
You submit. Do The Proof tracks the outcome.
One click submits the proof to Stripe. Do The Proof monitors the dispute and emails you when Stripe issues its decision. If the dispute is won, it shows up in your recovered revenue dashboard.

Free works end-to-end with one exception. Do The Proof doesn’t submit on your behalf. You copy the rebuttal to Stripe’s dashboard yourself, or download the PDF and upload it. That’s why the free tier is free: Do The Proof never sees your submissions, so it can’t track outcomes for free-tier disputes.
For context: industry standard for dispute tools is 20–25% of recovered revenue. Do The Proof charges 15%, and only when Stripe marks the dispute won.
No monthly fee on any tier. The 15% applies only when Stripe marks the dispute “won.” A dispute that’s still under review, expired, or lost costs you nothing.
You pay only on wins
Do The Proof only gets paid when Stripe marks a dispute “won.” That’s the only outcome we charge for.
- Lost the dispute? $0.
- Dispute expired before you responded? $0.
- You refunded the customer instead? $0.
- Stripe still reviewing? $0.
If your Stripe dashboard doesn’t say “won,” Do The Proof doesn’t charge you. Ever.

Do The Proof is new. Early users lock the current pricing for as long as they stay subscribed. Future pricing changes will not affect early accounts.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a Shopify app or a Stripe app?
Both. Do The Proof connects to your Shopify store to pull order data and to your Stripe account to read disputes and submit evidence. The install starts from the Shopify side. Connect your store, then add your Stripe secret key in settings.
What if I’m on Shopify Payments?
Do The Proof is built for merchants who process payments directly through Stripe, not through Shopify Payments. If you’re on Shopify Payments, disputes are handled in a different flow that Do The Proof doesn’t connect to. If you’d find this useful, let us know at hello@dotheproof.com. It helps prioritize what gets built next.
How does the AI write the rebuttal?
It reads the evidence assembled from your Shopify order and Stripe charge data: shipping records, billing address, customer emails, refund history, product information. It writes a rebuttal that addresses the specific type of dispute. You read the draft, edit it, and decide whether to submit. The draft is yours to change. Nothing is sent without your explicit action.
What happens to my data if I disconnect?
If you uninstall the Shopify app, your store’s data is marked for deletion within 30 days. If you contact us directly and request immediate deletion, we delete it on request. See the privacy page for the full data handling policy.
What if a dispute expires before I respond?
Do The Proof emails you when a new dispute arrives so you can act before the window closes. If a dispute expires anyway (you missed the email, or chose not to contest it), Do The Proof doesn’t charge you. An expired dispute is $0.
Can I see the evidence before it’s submitted?
Yes. The full proof is visible in the dispute detail page. You can review every item assembled, read the rebuttal, edit it, and download a PDF before submitting anything. Nothing reaches Stripe until you click submit.
Does this work with WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or other platforms?
Not yet. Do The Proof is built for Shopify+Stripe-direct. Support for other platforms is on the roadmap after the Shopify version is stable. If you’re on a different platform and this would be useful, let us know at hello@dotheproof.com. It helps prioritize what comes next.
